The Lakshman Rekha... the moment Sita crossed it, she was abducted. But in Valmiki's Ramayana, this line does not exist at all.
लक्ष्मण रेखा... जिसे पार करते ही सीता का हरण हुआ। पर वाल्मीकि रामायण में, ये रेखा है ही नहीं।
The truth about the Lakshman Rekha.
लक्ष्मण रेखा का सच।
A golden deer. Rama went after it. Then Rama's voice came from the forest... Ha Sita! Ha Lakshmana!
सोने का हिरण। राम उसके पीछे गए। फिर जंगल से राम की आवाज़ आई... हा सीता! हा लक्ष्मण!
Sita panicked. But Lakshmana knew that no one could defeat Rama. He did not go.
सीता घबरा गईं। पर लक्ष्मण जानते थे, राम को कोई नहीं हरा सकता। वो नहीं गए।
Then Sita said something no one expected.
तब सीता ने कुछ ऐसा कहा, जिसकी उम्मीद नहीं थी।
"You want Rama to die, so that you can have me. Or did Bharata send you?"
तुम राम की मौत चाहते हो, ताकि मुझे पा सको। या भरत ने तुम्हें भेजा है?
To Lakshmana, these words felt like heated arrows. With folded hands, he left. He drew no line.
ये शब्द, लक्ष्मण को तपे हुए तीरों जैसे लगे। हाथ जोड़कर, वो चले गए। कोई रेखा नहीं खींची।
And outside the hut, a holy man came... Ravana.
और कुटिया के बाहर, एक साधु आया... रावण।
So where is the line found? In the Lanka Kanda of the Ramcharitmanas, Mandodari taunts Ravana: you could not even cross Lakshmana's small line.
तो फिर, रेखा मिलती कहाँ है? रामचरितमानस के लंका कांड में, मंदोदरी रावण को ताना मारती है। तुम तो लक्ष्मण की छोटी सी रेखा भी पार नहीं कर पाए।
The whole scene came from later retellings. And TV took it into every home.
पूरा दृश्य, बाद की कथाओं से आया। और टीवी ने इसे, घर घर पहुँचा दिया।
